bio-pol2Tom focuses his practice on civil litigation with an emphasis on personal injury.  He has successfully represented his clients in negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and litigation. Prior to representing plaintiffs of personal injury, Tom did insurance defense. His unique perspective from both sides, plaintiff & defendant, enhances in his ability to navigate his clients through the life of their case.

Tom strives to find the most effective and efficient way to solve legal problems. He is a persuasive and dedicated advocate with a broad background in the law.

Before practicing law, Tom was an international trade specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce and a National Security Education Fellow at the Latin American Center for Sustainable Development in Costa Rica. He has taught at the University of Washington and currently teaches Torts in the paralegal studies program at Whatcom Community College.

In his spare time, Tom coaches youth soccer and serves as a Boy Scout leader. He enjoys golfing and skiing, and playing the banjo and guitar.

Tom is fluent in Spanish.
